EveryOnMenu

Privacy policy

EveryOnMenu is software that lets a restaurant take orders from a QR code on the table. It is run by EveryOnWeb (“we”). This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.

If you are ordering at a restaurant

  • You don't make an account. We don't ask for your name, phone number or email to order.
  • What we keep: what you ordered, from which table, when, the bill total, and whether it has been paid. The restaurant needs this to cook your food and keep its accounts.
  • Payment: you pay the restaurant directly — by UPI to the restaurant's own UPI ID, or at the table or counter. The money never passes through us, and we never see your bank, card or UPI app details.
  • Reviews: if you rate your meal, your rating, your comment and the name you choose to show are published on the restaurant's menu page. You can leave the name blank and appear as “Guest”. We don't ask for a phone number with a review.
  • One cookie: when you scan a table's QR code, a cookie called __session remembers which table you are at, so your order goes to the right place. It expires after four hours. It is not used for advertising or tracking, and we use no other cookies.

If you run a restaurant on EveryOnMenu

  • Your account: your name, email, phone, restaurant name, city and address, and the password you sign in with. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash; nobody, including us, can read them back.
  • Your restaurant: your menu, prices, photos, tables, opening hours, tax rate, FSSAI number if you add one, and the UPI ID diners pay you on.
  • Your staff: the names and emails of the waiter logins you create.
  • Staying signed in: the same __session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days, or until you sign out or change your password.
  • A record of changes: when you or your staff change something — a price, a table, a payment — we record who did it and when, and which fields changed. We do not record the old or new values. You can see this record yourself under “Who changed what”.
  • Sign-up requests: if you fill in the sign-up form, we keep your details so we can call you. The password you chose is deleted from the request as soon as it is approved or turned down.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent anyone's information.
  • We don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking scripts.
  • We don't send marketing messages to diners.

Who else sees it

  • The restaurant sees the orders placed at its own tables and the reviews left for it — never another restaurant's.
  • Hostinger rents us the server the service runs on, in Mumbai, India. Everything — the app, the database and the dish photos — is stored on that server.
  • We will share information with the authorities only when the law requires us to.

Your network address

Like every website, our servers see the internet address your request comes from. We use it for a few minutes to stop abuse, such as someone trying thousands of passwords, and forget it within a few hours. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for a limited time.

How long we keep it

  • Orders are kept for as long as the restaurant uses EveryOnMenu, because restaurants need them for their accounts and taxes.
  • If a restaurant closes its account, we delete its menu, tables, orders, reviews and logins with it.
  • A review stays on the menu page unless the person who wrote it asks us to remove it.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For a review you left, tell us the restaurant and roughly when. Write to the email below; we reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

EveryOnMenu is not meant for children to use on their own, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this page

If we change what we collect, we will update this page before the change goes live.
